Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Telemetry Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:30 - 19:00) Experience: 2 years License: Valid State License Certifications: BCLS, ACLS Must-Have: EPIC charting experience Description: Medical Surgical Telemetry Float Pool Registered Nurse position in an acute care setting. Patient ratios range from 1:5-7. Two years of experience are required for this role. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekends are required. This role involves floating between similar units based on need. Floating is expected across various units that match the nurse's skill set. Orientation includes 40 hours of non-billable training. The facility utilizes a co-caring model where one RN and one CNA care for six patients as a team. The CNA handles vitals and glucose checks, among other delegated tasks. The Charge RN and Resource RN act as resources without patient assignments. A resource CNA is available for additional support. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with a total of 571 staffed beds. Any scrub color is permitted except reddish orange. Modules are required before the start and on an annual basis, averaging 16 hours. Time spent on modules is self-reported. Travelers are expected to commit to working three out of five major holidays. Candidates may be asked to float within the hospital or to a nearby sister hospital. Communication devices for duty performance will be provided, or related expenses compensated.
